As a Growth Intern, you’ll support Altar84 developmentally. You’ll have a hand in helping Altar84 develop resources and programs that fit within our vision and mission. In 2015 Altar84 is looking to expand in 3 areas: our partners, our projects and our programs. We desire to have an intern that will focus primarily but not exclusively in one of these three areas:

    • Partnerships: As a Growth Intern you will help research and build a plan for obtaining and cultivating partnerships in the business world.
    • Projects: As a Growth Intern you will assist in building and sustaining projects such as the Go Green in Haiti Initiative, our KMO Events, and our project based funding opportunities.
    • Programs: As a Growth Intern you will help research, build, and sustain The Orphan Care Institute. TOCI is an educational program designed for church leaders, lay leaders, families, individuals, or anyone who is interested in caring for vulnerable and orphaned children.

orphans, vulnerable children and those who serve them. You are committed to the
vision and mission of Altar84.

You’re articulate, direct and professional
You’re capable of providing information concisely and effectively. You’re confident
about relaying the information before communicating it.

You’re great at using the best tools to get the job done
You know how to best use iOS applications, Microsoft Office and online tools to
manage logistics, reports and contact info. You’re an expert at setting up
documents and systems in a way that can be understood by anyone.

You’re independent yet flexible
You achieve results with little supervision. You aspire to own projects while also
following staff’s direction and leadership.


We are looking for a student or recent graduate. We’ll need you for 15-20 hours, 3
days a week. Please apply if you are located in the Birmingham, AL area.


This is an unfunded internship. However, we would allow for you to raise support
up to $1,000 a month for compensation. Also, it will afford to you the opportunity
to gain experience at a non-profit with an ambitious mission. We will gladly work
with your institution to give you academic credit for your experience.
